Röhrmoos - The municipality of Röhrmoos has made sure that there will hopefully soon be a barrier-free public toilet at the town hall that is only accessible from the outside.
The necessary renovation would be done so far, but one small thing is missing: The locks for the toilet, the also renewed town hall entrance door and a new inner door are currently not available.
Even the repeated complaining of the commissioned master locksmith does not help.
"We all hope that the locks will soon be available and ready to be installed," said Erwin Zelenka, the executive officer in the town hall.
The public toilet is particularly important in Röhrmoos because there has not been a toilet at the train station just a few steps away for a long time and the railway was not willing to contribute to the costs for a toilet near the train station.
Because the costs would have been around 200,000 euros, corresponding plans were dropped, even though the Free Voters in the local council had long ago campaigned for such an institution.
Ultimately, it was Zelenka's idea to accommodate the externally accessible public toilet in the town hall building at a fraction of the cost.
That was only possible because renovations were pending anyway.
Since the evangelical church has moved out, a large room has been vacated, which is now used by the municipal administration.
The former Postler toilet could be converted into the public toilet with far less effort.
The new rooms for the Röhrmoos administration were connected with a breakthrough to the town hall and some of them are already occupied.
Now one only has to wait for the delivery of the still missing locks for the public toilet and the town hall entrance doors.
