Moosburg

- The city council has cleared the way for a new redevelopment statute in the area of the Moosburg city center.

It is intended to secure the historical building fabric with various funding opportunities.

More than 25 years after the last redevelopment statute was drawn up in 1994, renewal with adjustments to the objectives is necessary.

The redevelopment history of the city of Moosburg began in 1977 with an application from the municipality as part of the Bavarian city promotion program.

In 1994, the old town redevelopment area was established with 19.2 hectares, and since then a number of smaller or larger redevelopment measures have been implemented.

Outstanding, for example, in 2013 was the conversion of the former savings bank building into the House of Education, the home of the Vhs.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Building laws currently in force stipulate that city redevelopment statutes must be limited to a maximum of 15 years, and regulations that were created before 2007 are to be repealed this year. As a result, the city council passed a unanimous decision to update the redevelopment goals and draft new statutes. The surrounding area, which has only been changed in some areas (

see paragraph below

), includes the previous redevelopment area of the old town; a new preliminary investigation is dispensed with due to the extensive documentation.

With the new statutes, previous goals are being pursued in order to achieve a balanced relationship between residential and commercial use in an attractive city center.

With improvements in the offers, an outflow of purchasing power from the center should be avoided.

New goals were defined for updating the restructuring plans.

In addition to commercial developments, “public use” is also to be found on the ground floor, while entertainment venues in the city center are excluded.

A flood of gambling halls is thus prevented in the beginning.

New goals compared to previous statutes are now also topics such as accessibility and climate protection.

Much "done with the wrong approach"

Alfred Wagner (Greens) calculated emotionally with the results of the past 44 years.

Although a number of goals were achieved with the renovations, "many things were also done with the wrong approach".

He spoke to the cobblestones on the streets and paths.

In addition, retail control could not work if more and more sales areas were approved outside the city, in the Degernpoint industrial park, or if medical centers, including drugstores and pharmacies, were planned on the outskirts.

Johannes Becher (Greens) had a specific suggestion because only half of the space “Auf dem Gries” was provided in the enclosure.

He asked for this area in urgent need of renovation to be completely included in the perimeter.

That should now be changed.

Focus on the station area

The most important change in the encirclement of the inner city redevelopment area affects the construction site next door: Mayor Josef Dollinger (FW) stated that they wanted to remove the eastern area of Poststrasse from the inner city and attach a plan area to the train station.

A redevelopment statute is also conceivable there in order to be able to upgrade the surroundings of this Moosburg entrance gate with various measures.

Dollinger also said that planning the area around the station would be high on the agenda.

"We should start with the area as soon as possible," emphasized the town hall chief.
