A restaurant burglar stole a safe with cash in Stralsund, but was unable to open the sturdy container.
As a police spokeswoman said on Thursday, the 46-year-old thief has now been determined.
He also confessed to the October 7th burglary.
Witnesses had given the investigators evidence of the perpetrator.
Stralsund - The man has meanwhile also led the investigators to the place where he had hidden the stolen safe.
According to the police, the entire income from the restaurant in Stralsund's old town was still in the Wertgelass, which could be returned to the owner.
The 46-year-old suspect must now answer on suspicion of the particularly serious case of theft.
