The municipal bicycle rental system in Tel Aviv is renewed and adds electric bicycles to its ranks.
This announcement comes in parallel with the infrastructure work that the municipality is carrying out in order to network the city with designated bicycle lanes.
It is expected that Tel Aviv will be crossed by 300 km of bicycle lanes, such as those that will encourage their use in the city.

According to the municipality's spokeswoman, about 200 pairs of electric bicycles entered the bicycle rental system this month, while according to the announcement, by the end of the month, 500 pairs, including helmets, will be scattered at "Tel-Offen" stations throughout the city.
The ultimate goal is to put 1,500 pairs of electric bikes in the array - so that most of the rental fleet will be based on these.
At the same time, about 150 pairs of bicycles with lowered seats adapted for women were also added to the fleet.
The use should be quite simple and can be done through a dedicated app.
The electric bikes have identification numbers and some of them (about half) are equipped with helmets for riders to use.
