At a good time, we begin to feel the winter. The mornings are getting a little cooler and we all already peek at least once a day at this part of the closet where our pampering jackets and coats hang. Winter, on the other hand, brings challenges, especially trying to find the motivation to leave home and train when it's cold or rainy, when just the thought of changing into sportswear and shoes can feel like a punishment while all you want is to close your eyes again and gain a few minutes of sleep.

But if you ask the members of the Turkish team, for whom sports have long been a way of life, it is precisely these cold days that can give us the best reason to train.

"I don't want to feel frozen all day," Omar Tzuri explains.

"Especially on mornings like this, I feel like my blood isn't flowing, so I like to give a cast of exercise on the morning."

Omar adds that this is her way to a more energetic day: "On winter mornings I feel like I get up more sleepy than usual, because it's cold anyway and everything is fossilized. At first it's harder to move and yes, not easy to turn upside down, "To flow the blood and warm the body, to take it out of its winter coma. After such a morning workout, I function much better later in the day."

In contrast, ninja Gil Mrentz sees things a little differently: "I do not believe in motivation, but in self-discipline," he explains his way of staying in the groove.

"Motivation goes back to bed when it's cold outside or raining, but self-discipline takes you out of it and brings you to your goals. If I was just dependent on motivation, I would give up on myself, but my self-discipline is stronger."

If you ask Gil, the path to self-discipline begins with commitment: "I remind myself why I do the things I do - what I want to achieve, what I want to prove, what example I want to set. Everyone needs to find a big goal and start breaking it down into goals. "Smaller, with clear goals that can be achieved. And if it is not possible to commit to a goal - then commit to someone. Find a coach and commit to him instead of ourselves."

Olympic athlete Hannah Minenko continues Gil's remarks, with her own twist on the subject: "For me it's a habit, I do not need motivation," she says.

"It comes voluntarily. I know I need it and no matter if it rains, I have to go practice."

Through the case of Hannah, who started her career in Ukraine, one can also understand that in the end, it's all a matter of perspective: "Training in the Israeli winter is a gift, the weather here is a bonus and you can even train in the winter. If there is good weather, no wind or "Rain, it's a lot of fun to run by the sea. In the summer, for example, it's much harder to train because of the heat, but the winter days can be taken advantage of. All over the world, the best athletes are looking for places where you can train in the winter."

Hannah also does not start her day without warming up first with a cup of Turkish coffee, which gives her exactly the energies she needs.

Cyclist Guy Niv presents a slightly different approach and admits: "For me, the cold and rainy mornings are a challenge, but I learned to tell myself that it's part of my job and my job. Even on days like this. I make sure to drink hot Turkish before leaving for morning training, especially in winter, because it warms the body. Then I try to find the satisfaction in dealing with the conditions - knowing that I did not give up is a fun and good feeling Similar ".

At the same time, if you ask Guy, he will actually tell you that staying in bed here and there is also fine: "Anyone who does not train as a job can afford to give up one training session at a time - nothing will happen," he says.

"It's important to look for long-term motivation and know that every day is meaningful, but also need to know how to let go. It's even good sometimes. If we know not to make ourselves remorseful and have a hard life after that, it can serve us. We are not robots and there are days we have less. .

In the end, the common denominator among all the athletes on the team is the need to find the strength to get out of bed and just like us, each has their own way, but the bottom line is the same: even in winter, going out and training without giving up on ourselves.

So have a pleasant winter full of energy and training.
