Daraa-Sana
The occupancy rate of the isolation departments in Daraa government hospitals has reached 100 percent, and some of them have exceeded this percentage, in light of the increasing number of infections with the Corona virus.
Dr. Ashraf Barmo, director of health in Daraa, told SANA reporter that the isolation department in Izraa National Hospital is 100% occupied, while the rest of the hospitals affiliated with the directorate are fully prepared to receive any cases, pointing out that critical cases are increasing, especially among the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
The Director of Health called for strictness in precautionary measures, given the high infections, pointing out that there are unprecedented rates of the Corona virus and its mutated strains that appeared later.
He said that there is a clear decrease in the number of recipients of the multiple vaccines provided by the Ministry of Health to citizens, pointing out that many are reluctant to receive vaccines despite their role in protecting against infection by a large percentage.
In Daraa National Hospital, the occupancy rate of the isolation department was about 130 percent, as Dr. Bassam Al-Hariri, the general manager of the hospital, explains that the hospital was forced to use the entire 40 beds of the isolation department and resort to using 15 additional beds due to the arrival of very critical cases in Corona. He said: “There are cases with mutated strains that have appeared. She has symptoms other than respiratory symptoms, such as digestive symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.”
Al-Hariri pointed out that the hospital equipped oxygen tanks with a capacity of 10 tons, in addition to 150 oxygen cylinders, and yesterday received two oxygen generators from the Ministry of Health, each of which is sufficient for two patients, pointing out that there is a high consumption of oxygen, especially for patients who suffer from severe hypoxia.
Al-Hariri stressed that the increasing infections with Corona are caused by the failure to adhere to the precautionary measures and the negligence in the subject of the vaccine.
