The Forsterner local council has decided on a care concept for the senior care center.

The contract was awarded to operator Renafan, based in Berlin, and investor Hemsö.

Forstern

- The municipality of Forstern has taken a decisive step on the way to getting its own care center for seniors: The local council decided on a care concept on Tuesday evening. The contract was awarded to operator Renafan, based in Berlin, and investor Hemsö. The decisive factor for this was their planned offer with their own outpatient care service and residential groups for people with dementia. The regional provider Pichlmayr with investor Haberl & Schleich was left behind.

Two weeks ago, the two potential operators and investors presented their concepts for a care center for the elderly at a special meeting.

Now a decision was made.

Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG) stated at the beginning that in the past few months the two concepts presented have not only been dealt with, but a number of others have also been listened to.

"Our focus was always on the care offer," said Streu and made it clear that the whole region was in view: the care center is of course not only intended for foresters, but also for the surrounding communities.

Forstern care center: 65 to 80 inpatient places make sense for the region

Streu said that outpatient offers would become more and more important in the future.

Nevertheless, they do not want a “pseudo care facility”: “We also need inpatient care places.” For the region around Forstern, 65 to 80 beds make sense, says Streu.

Maria Feckl said she thinks it's “really great that we're finally making a decision”.

The Green Councilor recalled that a care facility had already been discussed in the “Aging in the Country” concept together with the neighboring communities of Pastetten, Buch am Buchrain and Hohenlinden in 2014/15.

When asked about an operator, her group clearly endorsed the vote of the senior citizens' advisory board, said Feckl, who recommended the Renafan concept.

Reinhard Anger and Bernd Melka, who were last active on the advisory board, compared the two concepts again after the most recent meeting and came to the conclusion that Renafan, “after a thorough examination by us from the start, was clearly better than all previous competitors Solution "is:" It is reliable and serious in every respect, both in terms of offer and quality. "

Own outpatient service, day and short-term care, residential groups for people with dementia

Above all, the own outpatient service, not only interspersed day and short-term care as well as living groups for dementia patients had differentiated the two operators from each other - and were ultimately decisive for the majority of the committee to decide in favor of Renfan.

Simona Loupal (SPD / party-free) said on behalf of the SPD faction: "The investor fits, that's good for us in the long term." Georg Els jun. (AWG) stated that both concepts have advantages and disadvantages. Overall, however, Renafan is probably more suitable for Forstern. The senior citizens' advisory board has evaluated the various offers for a long time and in detail, and one has to fall back on this expertise.

Sebastian Klinger (CSU) also spoke out in favor of Renafan on behalf of his group.

What he particularly didn't like about the Pichlmayr / Haberl & Schleich concept was that the investor wanted to build apartments in addition to the care center.

A point of criticism that Stefan Ganghofer (CSU), Markus Fritsch (AWG) and Franz-Josef Obermaier (AWG) also raised.

Obermaier said he did not allow himself to say which of the two providers was better or worse.

“Both are professionals and the decision we're making today is probably the right one,” he said.

With the combination of outpatient, day and short-term care, you probably drive better with Renafan.

Planning with Renafan and Hemsö continues

The residential construction planned by Haberl & Schleich, on the other hand, has a “strange aftertaste”.

Florian Neglia (AWG) saw it that way too.

The residential complex doesn't go at all, but it still tends towards Pichlmayr / Schleich & Haberl.

Renafan had presented a "crazy concept", but he still had a bit of a "stomach ache", said Neglia.

Anton Oskar (CSU) also noted that a preferential occupancy right for Forsterner citizens had to be negotiated with Renafan, as Pichlmayr had offered.

This, as reported, was an important point at the recent meeting.

Mayor Streu spoke of an "important step" that had been carefully considered over the past few weeks and months.

Overall, Renafan had delivered the more coherent concept with Hemsö, he too found.

And so in the end only Neglia voted against pursuing the plans with the Renafan Group and the investor Hemsö.

An urban development contract is now to be prepared and further discussions are to be held.
