A 40-foot-long shipwreck has been found buried under the sands of a Latvian beach, dating back about 200 years.
The British newspaper, Daily Mail, indicated that residents in Latvia discovered part of the wreck in a beach only a few kilometers from the capital, Riga, and that the true size of the wreck remained hidden until experts and excavators came, where the bulk of the wreck was discovered, and it is likely that this wreck belongs to a warship British missing.
The newspaper pointed out that the identity of the ship has not yet been determined, but there is evidence showing that its hull was copper-plated, a technique used by the British Navy two centuries ago, as was used by merchant ships that travel long distances.
The newspaper reported that the British began painting the submerged parts of the ships in the late 18th century with this paint, so the wreck likely dates back to the 19th century, and this prompted Latvian heritage officials to assume that it was between 150 and 200 years old.
