A bomb from the Second World War was defused on Thursday morning in Leuna (Saalekreis).
This was announced by a spokeswoman for the circle.
The explosive device was discovered during construction work on company premises.
According to the district administration, it was a 2.5 quintals American bomb with a rear detonator.
This was removed when defusing.
Leuna - From around 9.45 a.m., the railway line between the Merseburg and Großkorbetha stations was closed.
All locks were lifted after the defusing, it said.
