The 74-year-old was honored for his work as a publicist in the coronation hall of Aachen city hall on Friday.

The undoped media prize has been awarded since 2000 in the context of the Charlemagne Prize celebrations.
It goes to personalities or institutions who have made an outstanding contribution to European unification and the development of a European identity in the media.
Previous winners include “Reporters Without Borders”, the musician André Rieu, the Eurovision Song Contest and the former director of the ARD studio in Brussels, Rolf-Dieter Krause.
