As museum director Anke Gutsch said on Friday, hobby gardeners from all over the state have registered for the traditional pumpkin and craft market to determine the largest and heaviest MV pumpkin.
Alt Schwerin - In previous years, the “winning giants” weighed between 130 and 250 kilograms.
With weights like this, it takes several strong hands to lift the fruit onto the scales.
In addition, lanterns and imaginative figures are carved out of the fruit in a “workshop”.
"Anyone who comes with a pumpkin weighing 25 kilograms or more has free entry," said Gutsch.
