Adv. Eyal Basarglik, a former defense attorney for Elor Azaria, announced last night (Monday) that he has joined the Likud party and intends to run in the upcoming primaries

Basarglik, a senior criminal defense attorney who was a leading candidate for the position of state attorney, is also remembered as the head of the defense team of soldier Elor Azaria.
His representatives include former Minister MK Haim Katz and former MK Oren Hazan.
In addition, he represented Basarglik in the Netivei Israel affair, the Tax Authority affair, Dudi Appel and many senior figures in the economy.

Advocate Basarglik said of his joining the Likud: "Ever since I can remember, I have been a right-wing man, a member of the national camp, a Likud man.
"Although I have respect for what the left has done, especially in the early years of the state, I have never been attached to it and certainly not to its compromising ideology towards security versus giving up territories."
