British Tory MP David Amess is the victim of a knife attack during a public consultation.
Leigh-on-Sea - A member of the Conservative ruling party in Great Britain was reportedly the victim of a knife attack on Friday (October 15, 2021).
As reported by the news broadcaster Sky News, among other things, an attacker stabbed David Amess in his constituency in Essex several times during a citizens' office hour.
Initially, nothing was known about the health of the 69-year-old.
Essex police said a man had been arrested after reports of a knife attack.
No further suspects are sought.
The case is reminiscent of the murder of Labor MP Jo Cox in 2016. Cox was also attacked by a right-wing extremist during a public consultation in her constituency and died of her injuries.
The murder happened just a week before the Brexit referendum.
