Covid-19: 1,180 classes closed, announces the Ministry of National Education

Last week, this number rose to 1,254. Six schools, five schools and a college located in the academies of Bordeaux, Toulouse, Orléans-Tours and Versailles, have had to completely close their doors.

As every Friday, the ministry also gave information on screening in schools.

From Monday 4 to Monday 11 October, 401,032 saliva tests were offered and 205,229 performed.

If from this Friday, the tests become paying for unvaccinated adults who do not have a prescription, they will remain free in schools.

In addition, the vaccination campaign is continuing: 9123 establishments have offered a vaccination course since the start of the September school year.

From next Monday, elementary school students in 79 departments will be exempt from wearing masks indoors, unlike those in 22 other departments in France and overseas.

Among the latter, a specific case: Lozère, which had lifted this obligation on October 4, will be obliged to again impose the wearing of masks on its students due to the local increase in the incidence rate.
