Covid-19: the effectiveness of the Chinese vaccine in question

DECRYPTION - Both Chinese vaccines use inactivated virus technology. A more traditional method than that used by the vaccines deployed in Europe, consisting in removing the pathogenic character of Sars-Cov-2 and inoculating it directly.


Twenty-three Covid-19 vaccines are used around the world to fight the pandemic. Of these 23, only seven have been approved by the WHO and among them are two Chinese vaccines developed by Sinovac and Sinopharm. The latter have not submitted a file to the European Medicines Agency. But their products are deployed in 41 and 66 countries, respectively, and are the most widely used in the world. They both rely on inactivated virus technology. A more traditional method than that used by vaccines deployed in Europe. It simply consists of removing the pathogenicity of Sars-Cov-2 and inoculating it directly. Are they as effective? The levels of antibodies produced after injection are much lower than those seen with Pfizer, Moderna or even AstraZeneca vaccines.
