Record winner Spandau 04 has a home advantage in the fight for the German Water Polo Cup this weekend.
The four-man finals with the Berliners, who have already triumphed 31 times, master Waspo Hannover, ASC Duisburg and newcomer SV Ludwigsburg 08 is actually the final act of the 2020/21 season after various corona-related scheduling problems.
In terms of time, the event is right before the start of the new season with the start of the Champions League for the water friends and Waspo drawn as group opponents on 27.
Berlin - October.
After last year's final victory against Waspo in the Schöneberg swimming pool, Spandau will be the defending champion.
Both teams will go into the semi-finals of the tournament on Saturday as favorites against Ludwigsburg and Duisburg.
The final is on Sunday (1 p.m.).
After the German team missed their participation in the Olympic Games in Tokyo and a few changes in personnel, those responsible expect a position assessment.
With the exception of the 2019 championship and the 2020 cup with Spandau as the winner, Hannover has won all title duels since 2017.
"It can only be our goal to improve this balance sheet in our favor," said Spandau's manager Peter Röhle.
