The fair weekend should be golden. What could be nicer than a family trip to the Munich area. We have five tips for that.

What could be nicer than a family trip to the Munich area.

We have five tips for that.

A gscheiter Kirta lasts until the Irta ... that's the old Bavarian saying.

Kirchweih is traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday in October - and can sometimes last until Tuesday ... We have a few tips ready where you can enjoy roast duck or goose, Kirtahutschn and Kirchweihnudeln in the Munich area.

And because the weather is fine, we'll show you where you can go for a walk in the October sun.

Glentleiten: Here tradition meets sociability

Market bustle, bowling and kirtahutschn: On Sunday and Monday the open-air museum Glentleiten revives the parish fair traditions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are regional and handcrafted products at the Kirta market.

The balls are pushed on the historic bowling alley on the Salettl and various music groups play.

Of course, there is also roast goose and freshly baked extracts.

Admission: Adults: 9 euros, children up to 15 years free.

Tegernsee beckons

Cast off!

On Sunday there is a parish fair at Tegernsee with a three-course feast.

Departure from Rottach-Egern (lido) is at 12 p.m. and return around 3 p.m.

Price for menu and live music (excluding drinks): 49 euros.

Kirchweih delicacies are also available at an altitude of 1117 meters: On the Wallbergmoosalm (Berghaus 1, 83708 Kreuth).

Quarter duck with dumplings and red cabbage for 15.50 euros.

Enjoyment at the Steinsee

From this Sunday is the parish fair at Steinsee (Ebersberg district): The restaurant has grilled farm duck with potato dumplings, apple red cabbage and duck sauce - the quarter for 14.90 euros, the half for 19.80 euros.

The portion of goose with potato dumplings, red apple cabbage and gravy for 22.80 euros.

Tour: Access to the lake is now free, there is a nice playground with a trampoline.

You can take a leisurely stroll on the lake or hike outside the area on the circular path around the lake.

Aim high in Fürstenfeldbruck

There is a real atmosphere at the Fürstenfeld Kirta Festival on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Fürstenfeld event forum (Fürstenfeld 12): Visitors can look forward to the König Ludwig ship swing, a children's carousel, a straw bouncy castle and pony rides.

The promotions are included in the admission price, adults 3 euros, children up to 14 years free.

At the Kirta market, over 40 exhibitors present traditional costumes, wooden goods and jewelry, plus there are numerous delicacy stands.

No 3G rule, mask required inside.    

Boat trip on the Ammersee

Kirchweih is also celebrated on Lake Ammersee.

In the Gasthof Unterbräu in Dießen am Ammersee (Mühlstr. 36) there are parish fair specialties on Sundays and Mondays from 11.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

A quarter of a goose costs 24.50 euros, a quarter of a duck costs 15.90 euros and a half duck costs 19.90 euros - each with celery salad, dumplings and red cabbage.

The steamer will be sailing on the Ammersee this weekend.

Tour: The S 8 takes you from Munich to Herrsching, from the train station it is only a few minutes' walk to the Dampfersteg.

The ships will continue to sail up to and including this Sunday.

Then it's off for the winter break.

So with the steamer across the Ammersee to Dießen.

It's a stone's throw to Unterbräu!

Then you go back over the large or small lake circuit to Herrsching.
