The SPD executive board has cleared the way for coalition negotiations on a traffic light alliance with the Greens and the FDP.
According to the party, the panel unanimously approved the results of the exploratory negotiations between the three parties on Friday afternoon.
The deliberations of the responsible bodies of the Greens and the FDP should take place on Sunday and Monday.
