According to the Berlin FDP parliamentary group leader in the House of Representatives, Sebastian Czaja, the Greens prevailed against the election winner SPD in the exploratory talks.
Czaja said on Friday in an interview with the private radio broadcaster Berliner Rundfunk 91 that he had got the impression that the Greens had made their preference for an alliance with the left clear from the start.

One reason he cited was that the SPD state chairman Franziska Giffey (SPD) had not been able to assert herself within her party.

Czaja had belonged to the exploratory team of the Liberals, which last met on Monday with the SPD and the Greens to sound out the chances for a traffic light coalition.
