Hamburg's second mayor Katharina Fegebank has spoken out in favor of the formation of a federal government made up of the SPD, the Greens and the FDP. It is about nothing less than "tackling the modernization of the country quickly and profoundly," said the Green politician, who was also a member of the Green exploration team. The results of the preliminary talks had "produced a clear reform agenda" and also showed "that a new departure is possible for our country now and that a change in policy can develop tremendous power for shaping the future".
Hamburg - The negotiators from the SPD, Greens and FDP in the exploratory talks had previously unanimously agreed to start coalition negotiations.
While the SPD federal executive wanted to decide on Friday, the Greens will have a small party conference on Sunday.
The FDP committees want to decide on Monday.
