He is the new Mr. Folk Festival and Markets: Jürgen Schröter has been organizing the festivals and events in the town hall since September.

A difficult start due to the corona.

But the 47-year-old is not discouraged and wants to get a lot going this year.

Fürstenfeldbruck -

Jürgen Schröter comes from Bad Waldsee near Ravensburg. After studying tourism in Munich, he was Deputy Head of Marketing and Tourism in Kirchheim unter Teck for 14 years. Here he mainly took care of events such as the city festival and Christmas markets as well as the concerns of the advertising community. Then, last October, he fell in love with Munich, or more precisely Oberhaching. Schröter worked in the State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs - until he discovered the job advertisement for the event manager in Fürstenfeldbruck. "I thought that would be interesting."

Schröter was selected by the city council and has since moved into his office on Pucher Strasse.

He's still a lone fighter until the end of October, when a new colleague will join.

There is enough work.

The folk festival - originally planned for the end of October - was canceled.

But other events should take place this year.

“We would like to make something possible as a city,” says Schröter.

The first will be the Leonhardifahrt, which will definitely take place on October 30th.

The hygiene concept is coordinated with the health department.

Considerations are also under way for the Luzienhäuslschwimmen and the Christmas market.

Much will depend on the development of the infection, says the 47-year-old.

Cozy places in the city center

Jürgen Schröter was aware that in the middle of the corona pandemic it would not be an easy start to the new office.

“It's an uncertain time, you can't plan.” But he is spontaneous and able to rethink quickly.

And he has experience in the field: "A lot is the same at celebrations, such as the approval procedure."

Schröter has already arrived after a month.

“The city center has its secluded spots,” says the 47-year-old.

He is happy to contribute his suggestions to the design of the cattle marketplace, for example.

That would also be an opportunity for the further development of the markets in Bruck.

"That will become an issue at some point."

At the end of the year he wants to sit down with the parties involved in festivals and markets and talk about new ideas.

He takes suggestions for new ideas with him from his wealth of experience and from many trips.

Despite his vacation, he is always attentive to events and markets.

“An occupational disease,” says the passionate hiker and laughs.
