Münsing

- The corona pandemic caused a forced break: the local association of the Greens in Münsing has only now, around one and a half years after the local elections in spring 2020, dealt with the election results at a general meeting in attendance.

In addition, board elections were on the agenda of the local association.

According to the press release, the spokesman for the local association, Prof. Dr. Matthias Richter-Turtur is delighted that the Greens in Münsing achieved a “great” result in March of last year. As reported, the party entered the seaside community for the first time with its own list of candidates - and immediately won three seats in the local council. But: That did not lead to the fact that according to the high share of votes (more than 7,600 Münsinger voted for green, followed by the Münsing group of voters with a good 6,100 votes) “the municipal offices could be filled”, says Matthias Richter-Turtur. Neither the office of Vice-City Councilor nor the office of Third Mayor "was awarded to the Green parliamentary group despite Christine Mair's candidacy".

According to the local association's press release, the political work in the Münsingen municipal council is “primarily characterized by an oppositional attitude towards the size of the new community center” and the cost development of the project.

In addition, the three-member parliamentary group paid very close attention to “compliance with noise protection against neighbors”.

According to their own statements, the Münsingen Greens are critical of the size of the senior citizens' pen planned by the Kuratorium Wohnen im Alter (KWA) in the Ambach district. For this reason, the signature campaign for a referendum was supported. The initiators around the prominent author Anatol Regnier had handed over 431 signatures last week to Münsing's mayor Michael Grasl (we reported). The municipal council must now decide on the admissibility of the referendum within a month.

The board elections resulted in a unanimous vote with 5: 0 votes: Christine Mair (spokesperson), Richter-Turtur (spokesperson), Mechthild Felsch (secretary) and Ulrich Grunwald (assessor).

Nikolaus Mair wanted to run for the post of second assessor, but he could not be elected because of the women's statute applicable to the Greens.
