Plantsch boss Andreas Kosian wanted to "slide out of the crisis with momentum" with the Fantasy Loop slide, but after a quarter of an hour it was clear that readjustments had to be made because of a short circuit.

Schongau

- "The cause of the error has been found - but it takes time." This message was received by the editorial office on Wednesday, just two hours after the slide premiere. Andreas Kosian, head of the Schongau municipal company Plantsch, was able to report that shortly after approval, the software did not cause the slide traffic light to turn red, as feared, but that a component of the slide control was defective. But this news is not much better: "Unfortunately, it has to be sent in and replaced or repaired," said Kosian himself, bringing the bad news. "Unfortunately, we can only drive the slide in emergency mode for the next few days, which annoys us more than the many patient customers who have been waiting for the new slide for months," regrets Kosian. Trigger of the accident after the first diagnosis:In the morning there was a short circuit during the remaining work, which damaged the electronic component.

The bathroom manager would much rather have “slipped out of the crisis” - that has to be postponed

Before the pandemic, people were still in the best of spirits.

After the Corona-ridden year of crisis with long closing times, Kosian would have preferred to have expressed something different with the start of the new slide, namely "we are now sliding out of the crisis with momentum".

In the afternoon, the bathroom manager proudly welcomed the six young guests who had applied to the local newspaper to participate and who had won.

"There is a lot of technology, experience and change in it."

Kosian had also announced a lot of excitement with the various scenarios that each bather can choose individually.

"And the real journey to Mars is much more dangerous," he told the younger children along the way.

Children love the slide

Whether it's a trip to the moon, the shark attack, the “bite of the cobra” or just sliding without any further program for those who don't like it that wild - the 44 steps to the top are worthwhile.

Eight-year-old Emil Liebmann from Weilheim commented “Good” after completing the premiere run with the tire under his arm.

“It was really cool,” said twelve-year-old Amelie Werner from Rottenbuch enthusiastically and immediately shouldered her tire for the next trip.

The Palatinate holiday guests Aline (10) and Dominik (12) and Mama Marina also want to "definitely come back again".

When everything has been repaired, the next step is to break the track records on this slide.

However, it will probably not be as easy as it used to be to top the list of the best, because until you get to grips with the touchpoints that you still have to hit on the slide wall in the downhill frenzy, you can probably practice a bit.

The entire slide experience is available in around ten days

The entire slide experience should be available in around ten days, Kosian estimated yesterday on request - until then you can slide normally, but not all light and sound effects work.

The new splash slide and its extras cost around 900,000 euros minus a 45 percent subsidy.

There is still no final invoice, as Till Penski, who represented the city of Schongau at the slide premiere, revealed.

But assume that everything is within the framework.

In any case, it was precision work to completion.

The city had benefited from the federal program “Rehabilitation of municipal facilities in the areas of sport, youth and culture”.

Including the slide, around 1.35 million euros have been invested in the Schongauer Bad in the past two years, because the building automation, the pump technology and the pool water filters had already been replaced.

Small breakdown also with the first slide 20 years ago

As two employees of Schongauer Nachrichten remember, there was also a small glitch at the start of the slide that premiered in 2001: The mayor of Gogolin must have got stuck in the tube the first time he slipped.
