The Russian military announced today that Russian and Chinese warships are conducting joint exercises in the Sea of Japan to combat the danger of mines.
"In the first stage of the exercises, the warships fired artillery at floating fake mines," TASS news agency quoted a statement of the Russian Pacific Fleet as saying.
The statement indicated the participation of a large anti-submarine warship, minesweepers and a submarine from the Russian Navy, while the Chinese participation is represented by warships, two destroyers, two cruisers, a submarine and warplanes.
These exercises will take place from the 14th to the 17th of this month.
