More organic, more French products and less plastic.
The SNCF has just unveiled this Thursday, October 14 the autumn-winter card put in place this Friday in the TGV bar inOui.
Main innovation: the abandonment of plastic water bottles on board.
"
It was a real paradox that we put millions (euros) to have TGVs that are 97% recyclable and that we sell plastic bottles there,
" noted the director of Voyages SNCF, Alain Krakovitch.
Still water, from the Eau Neuve brand, captured in the Pyrenees mountains, is now sold in Tetra Pak cardboard bottles (or in aluminum cans for sparkling water).
100% recycled and recyclable containers, promises the SNCF.
A significant change considering that two million bottles of water were sold each year in bar cars.
It remains to be seen whether their selling price (respectively 2.70 and 3.20 € for 33 cl) will convince passengers ...

Chefs Alexia Duchêne and Nina Métayer sign the new autumn-winter 2021/2022 menu for Bar TGV inOui.

As for meals, the railway company called on two young talents to succeed the summer menu with Korean accents imagined by Pierre Sang.
Chef Alexia Duchêne, revealed in 2018 by the “
Top Chef
” program, signs the three new savory dishes (duck mince pie, spelled salad and toasted carrot confit).
The two desserts (shortbread chocolate brownie, pecan nuts and fleur de sel, and cake of the moment) were entrusted to pastry chef Nina Métayer, 33, awarded Pastry

of the Year in 2016 by
Le Chef
magazine
and in 2017 by the Gault & Millau guide.

Self-service control terminals and coffee machines
Still water is now sold in the form of recycled and recyclable cardboard bottles.

Each menu now includes a vegetarian option.
On the other hand, no change on the side of hot snacks.
Particularly popular with passengers, the croque-monsieur, the club sandwich and the burger remain on the menu.
Teas from the Comptoir Français du Thé, orangeade Mimouna, Beillevaire yogurts ... The new menu highlights French producers.
SNCF promises 94% of products manufactured in France and 44% of products certified organic or from sustainable agriculture.
Cruelly absent today, selective sorting is gradually being deployed on board TGVs.
As well as self-service coffee machines that will work with capsules.
By 2023, touchscreen control terminals will be installed at various TGV locations.
In the meantime, it is already possible on the vast majority of trains to order on the lebar.sncf.com site and be served via a priority line.
