The police in Saxony-Anhalt mourn a 24-year-old riot policeman from Hamburg.
"Our thoughts are with the relatives, friends and colleagues of the Hamburg police," said the Ministry of the Interior in Magdeburg on Friday.
"As a token of sympathy, a mourning ribbon was placed on all of the Saxony-Anhalt police's official vehicles."
Magdeburg / Hamburg - According to the Hamburg police, the 24-year-old took part in a physically demanding exercise as part of basic training in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
After his condition worsened, he died in a hospital, the police said.
The investigations into the exact circumstances of death are being carried out by the LKA Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
There are therefore no indications of third-party negligence.
