According to the Department of Health, a passenger on Air Canada's flight (AC007) from Vancouver to Hong Kong on October 13 was diagnosed after an arrival test. In addition, one passenger failed to meet the conditions specified in Chapter 599H. The flight of the route arrives in Hong Kong on the 14th and ends on October 29th.

The 9 new cases involved two foreign domestic helpers. One of them was a 29-year-old female domestic helper (case number: 12284) who arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines by CX906 on October 10, carrying the L452R mutant virus strain and had received two doses in the Philippines. Fubitel vaccine; another 38-year-old domestic helper (case number: 12289) arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines via flight CX906 on October 13, with the L452R variant virus. She has received two doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in the Philippines.

Case 12290 involves a 39-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from India on flight UK6401 on September 30 and has received two doses of Covishield vaccine.

The center stated that he was a close contact of the imported case 12229, a 62-year-old woman who arrived in Hong Kong from India, who was diagnosed at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center yesterday.

Two confirmed patients arrived in Hong Kong from Russia on CX288 on the same day. A 39-year-old woman (case number: 12283) was asymptomatic. She was diagnosed during the quarantine period. She had completed the Sputnik V vaccine in Russia; another involved a 3-year-old girl ( Case number: 12291), also arrived in Hong Kong from Russia on October 10.

The Department of Health cited Chapter 599H, prohibiting passenger planes operated by Air Canada from landing in Hong Kong from Vancouver, Canada from October 16 to 29.

Case 12287 is a 68-year-old woman who arrived in Hong Kong from Canada via flight AC007 on October 13 with the L452R mutant virus strain. The "test pending" test result at the airport temporary sample collection center was positive.

The Department of Health stated that a passenger on the flight was confirmed to have arrived in Hong Kong and a passenger failed to meet the conditions specified in Chapter 599H.
