Financial Secretary Chen Maobo earlier submitted a petition to the High Court in accordance with the Companies Ordinance, requesting an order to wind up Next Media Co., Ltd.

The Financial Secretary also requested the court to appoint a provisional liquidator for Next Media. The High Court Judge Chen Jingfen today (15th) appoints a provisional liquidator for Next Media after hearing the submissions.

The Financial Secretary, Chen Maobo, is now represented by Senior Counsel Yu Ruohai, while Next Media Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Next Media) was not represented.

In his speech, Yu Ruohai pointed out that there are many reasons to believe that the court should appoint a provisional liquidator for Next Media, including the resignation of all directors of Next Media.

In addition, Next Media is currently under investigation, and the court appoints a provisional liquidator to assist in the investigation.

After hearing the submissions, the judge appointed two people as provisional liquidators of Next Media, and issued a verdict this afternoon to explain the rationale.

Case Number: HCCW 359/2021
