From now on, the social department store in Puchheim-Ort has set up clear discount rules for the needy for the first time.

Boss Abdellah Asdaydou placed a notice in his shop, on which customers can read what price reductions they can expect at the checkout: 20 percent on clothing, ten percent on furniture - upon presentation of Hartz IV proof or blackboard ID.

Puchheim-Ort - women who fled to the women's refuge from their violent husbands even get clothes for free.

The social department store manager Asdaydou wanted the new discount rules out of a dilemma in which he has been stuck for some time.

The used goods center was originally run by the Upright Gang charity.

Its guiding principle was to offer poor people cheap shopping opportunities.

But the association was dissolved at the end of 2017.

The business went into a company that had to act economically.

The basic social idea should, however, remain.

In the past, Tafel customers were granted a 20 percent discount.

People in need were met even earlier.

But it wasn't regulated.

Bargaining was the order of the day, calculations were impossible for the merchant.

And then there was the corona pandemic: lots of goods, but the shop was closed.

“We fought for our existence,” says Asdaydou.

So the special discounts were canceled for some time.

But the boss was not happy with that.

He consulted with his former colleagues from the upright gait.

And it was agreed that the discounts should continue to exist.

But no longer this way and that.

Rather, it is clearly regulated for everyone.

Just very social.
