A different kind of rejuvenation at the fire brigade in the small Moorenweiser district of Eismerszell: The fire brigade home is to be used for holiday care in the future.

Moorenweis -

Franziska Braun from Egling an der Paar (Landsberg district) discovered the fire brigade club home in Eismerszell by chance.

Now she would like to rent it by the week in the coming year in order to offer holiday care for school children.

The idea was well received in the local council.

The building does not play a particularly important role in the plans for the vacation offer.

It would mainly be about being able to use the sanitary facilities, explained Braun.

“We mainly want to be outside.” The green space in front of the building is suitable for this.

Excursions in the area should also be made and meetings with beekeepers and foresters organized.

When it rains, you can also play outside; a canopy or pavilion would suffice as a shelter.

The concept is based on the Munich educational institution “Naturindianer”, where Braun claims to have already led holiday groups.

Including lunch

In Eismerszell she would like to offer a group with a maximum of 30 places for children between the ages of six and twelve.

If there is enough demand, the initiator can imagine covering the Easter, Whitsun, summer and autumn holidays completely, minus the holidays and weekends.

The care would be all day including lunch from regional organic food, which is cooked by children and carers on a gas roaster.

Gerti Riedl-Steininger (Bürgerervereinigung / BV), the chairwoman of the local lunch service, welcomed the plans.

In the past, parents had repeatedly asked for holiday care, even if a corresponding offer had to be discontinued because, in the end, too few children were registered.

"It didn't work for us, but the pressure was still there."

200 euros per week

Michael Leib (CSU) found the offer perfect.

"But not everyone will be able to afford it," he said, referring to the proposed price of 200 euros per week.

Franziska Braun spoke of possible discounts for siblings and children from the community.

With the use of the clubhouse as a meeting point and event location for the Eismerszeller, the holiday group would not collide, said Ulrich Holaschke (BV).

He comes from the district and is chairman of the fire brigade association.

People meet for regulars in the evening and for barbecues on weekends.

In this respect, he does not expect resistance from the place.

With the positive feedback, Franziska Braun now wants to continue planning.
