Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - After attempting to blow up an ATM in the Westerwald, the police arrested a suspect.
Together with an accomplice, the 27-year-old is said to have piped gas into a bank machine on August 6 in Waldbrunn (Limburg-Weilburg district) in order to blow it open, as the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor announced on Friday.
However, there was no explosion.
The machine was damaged by more than 3,000 euros; the men are said to have broken it open beforehand.
The man was arrested in Limburg on Thursday.
His identification had been preceded by extensive investigations, it said.
He is in custody.
