Every third Turkish citizen living in North Rhine-Westphalia has been in Germany for more than 40 years.
This emerges from a message from the State Statistical Office (IT.NRW) on Friday.
According to this, 36.8 percent of the 487,470 men and women registered in North Rhine-Westphalia with Turkish citizenship had been living in Germany for 40 or more years in 2020.
Düsseldorf - Another 19.2 percent were between 30 and 40 years of age, 25.1 percent between 20 and 30 years of age in Germany.
Only 4.9 percent of citizens with a Turkish passport had been living in Germany for less than four years in 2020.
Almost 30 percent of Turkish nationals living in North Rhine-Westphalia were born in this country, so they belong to the so-called second generation.
