Up to 500 euros will soon be given to Hallbergmoos restaurateurs who offer reusable containers to take away - but only if enough participate.

Hallbergmoos

- From January 2023, restaurants, snack bars, cafes, butchers and the grocery trade will be legally obliged to offer their customers reusable reusable containers as an alternative to disposable packaging for to-go drinks or take-away meals.

The aim is to stem the flood of plastic packaging.

The municipality of Hallbergmoos grants restaurateurs who opt for the locally standardized, cross-company reusable tableware a maximum of 500 euros - provided that at least five companies take part. And that will probably work.

Deposit systems: An overview was obtained in the meeting room

It was only a handful of restaurateurs who got an overview of the deposit systems in the meeting room of the town hall. On the other hand, the debate about the options was all the more productive. Sabina Brosch, Councilor of the Greens, from whom the initiative for the reusable network system came from, and Katrin Schröckenbauer from Goldachmarkt have familiarized themselves with the matter - and presented the systems of various providers.

Adi Weiß from the hut landlord spoke up with critical questions - such as the return, cleaning, cost-effectiveness and the "risk of spreading" of the depositware.

Like Rudi Hamburger (Neuwirt), all those present generally supported the introduction of the system, but were not yet completely satisfied with the sizes of the presented containers.

Because, as they said, for the church fair goose or the cappuccino to go, the cups and bowls are simply not big enough.

Brochure and Schröckenbauer want to follow up with the providers here.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The restaurateurs agreed that the system, free of charge for customers, should be offered in conjunction with a customer card.

Because not all, according to Schröckenbauer, could get by with a mobile phone app.

According to the tenor, it is important that as many restaurateurs and local grocery stores as possible join in.

A Whatsapp group has already been set up

That is why they now want to network and exchange ideas - also to answer questions about the system, which, according to Brosch, are currently being asked in a number of Northern Alliance municipalities.

A Whatsapp group has already been set up.

The contact person is Sabina Brosch, phone (01 52) 56 39 12 42.

Important: Funding applications must be submitted to the municipality's economic development agency by December 31st.
