The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the terrorist bombings that targeted a mosque in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, calling on the country's authorities to ensure security throughout.
Russia Today website quoted Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying, “We condemn this brutal terrorist act and we hope that its perpetrators will be exposed and face severe punishment,” noting that “the organizers of these operations have the goal of fueling religious strife and escalating internal political conflict.”
Zakharova expressed her condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, calling on the Afghan authorities to "take additional steps to ensure security throughout the country."
The terrorist bombings that targeted a mosque today in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar killed 41 people and wounded 70 others.
