It was only recently that the end of the traditional knitwear center in Otto-Wagner-Strasse became known.

The owner of the haberdashery store is about to retire and could not find a successor.

A similar fate threatened the long-established tailoring shop on Frühlingstrasse, right next to the Volksfestplatz.

Petra Grieß, who has been running the business for 16 years now, is retiring.

Germering - However, she has found a master tailor to take over the shop: Monika Timar invites you to the reopening on Saturday, October 16, at 10 a.m.

“The tailor's workshop”, the new name of the shop, was spruced up with little effort, explains Monika Timar: “A friend is an interior designer who took care of the design.” New, black window frames are the first visible difference from the outside old business.

Inside, a new wall color and simple furniture have made the atmosphere bright and clear.

Monika Timar is no stranger to the store: The master tailor and design master met Petra Grieß when the employment office drew her attention to a vacancy in the tailoring shop.

The connection remained, although Monika Timar went into business for herself and opened her first tailor's workshop two years ago at Wörthsee.

When Petra Grieß asked her if she would like to take over the shop in Germering, she immediately agreed.

With her own tailoring workshop on Lake Wörth, she fulfilled a dream that she would like to continue in Germering. In her own words, she wants to offer more than just tailoring changes. Monika Timar, for example, has designed her own pajama collection with matching bed linen and otherwise attaches great importance to textile accessories. She is sure that Petra Grieß's long-standing regular customers will continue to come to her. The new tailor's workshop has a very wide range of options. It ranges from tailoring, curtain fabrics, outdoor fabrics for garden furniture and bed linen to decorative items for a cozy home. In the shop at Wörthsee she has also made custom-made products for boats and mobile homes.

The opening ceremony on Saturday is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Customers receive coffee and cake and drinks.
