Ski: Tignes opens the sliding season this weekend, before the Deux-Alpes

First descents to the top this Saturday on the Savoyard glacier, before the Deux-Alpes for the All Saints holidays. French resorts will open their ski areas from November 20, a priori without a health pass.

Habits are back on our summits and the Savoyard resort is no exception by opening half a dozen ski lifts. The first skiers will put on their spatulas this Saturday, October 16 on the Grande Motte glacier. No health pass for the moment in the lifts, but with the now traditional barrier measures, namely distancing and wearing a mask in queues or on the chairlift.

On the menu, around twenty km of slopes between 3200 m and 2750 m in altitude, including the Nordic loop, accessible from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm (last climb) via the main links concerned, including the funicular from Tignes-Val Claret (2100 m) and the cable car that climbs to the top of the domain.

Not to mention four chairlifts and ski lifts.

The single price for day passes is set at 40 € per adult (14-64 years old included) and at 31 € for children and seniors.

The Savoyard resort will open its entire ski area and the link with Val-d'Isère on November 27.

With a preliminary strong point: on November 13, the double M, this track which connects the glacier to Tignes Val Claret by swallowing 1400 m of vertical drop, will be skiable.

After the school holidays, the glacier will close on November 7, the entire area reopening on Saturday November 27 for a season that will stretch until May 1.

The Isère summit, covered to date with 30 cm of snow preserved by the cold, will offer a dozen slopes and its snowpark between 3600 m and 3200 m altitude, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Access by the Jandri Express cable car with a day pass at the single price of € 36.50.

First ski area openings on November 20

In the northern Alps, Val-Thorens and Chamonix must start the lifts on November 20, before Deux-Alpes and Val d'Isère the following week.

Grand Tourmalet and Cauterets will inaugurate the season in the Pyrenees, the weekend of November 27/28, like Puy-Saint-Vincent in the southern Alps.
