The MTR announced tonight (15th) that when a light rail train entered the Siu Hong terminus this morning, the captain opened the door before it was completely parked on the platform. The captain closed the door and drove the light rail into the platform after detecting it.
The MTR stated that no passengers were injured in the incident and the captain of the car involved has been removed from his driving duties for investigation.
When a light rail line 505 heading towards Siu Hong entered platform 5 of Siu Hong Terminus, the captain opened the door when the light rail was not fully parked within the platform.

The MTR pointed out that at about 6 o'clock this morning, a light rail line 505 heading towards Siu Hong was entering platform 5 of Siu Hong Terminus. The captain opened the door when the light rail was not fully parked within the platform.
Upon detection, the captain closed the door and re-parked the light rail safely within the range of the platform, and then opened the door to allow passengers to board and alight. No passengers were injured in the incident.
The car captain involved subsequently reported to his superiors that the MTR has notified the relevant government departments of the incident and the car captain has been temporarily transferred from his driving duties for further investigation by the company.
The light rail was arranged to return to the depot for inspection.
