After the handling chaos last weekend, passenger operations at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) ran smoothly until late Friday noon.
"It is a normal travel day during the autumn holidays with a lot of traffic in the terminal," said an airport spokesman.
So far, however, there have been no longer waiting times that would have had a negative impact on the handling operations.
Berlin / Schönefeld - This impression was also confirmed by reporters on site.
The airport operator has 40 additional workers on duty to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Half of them are out and about in the terminal to support travelers with the check-in process.
The other half help out when loading the luggage.
According to the airport spokesman, those who follow the recommendation to be at the airport about two hours before departure are unlikely to have any problems even on busy days.
Around 70,000 passengers are expected on Friday during the day.
It was not yet clear how many were already out and about at BER by Friday noon.
The evaluation will only be carried out on Monday.
