The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City reported this Friday that shots were reported in Terminal 2 of the Benito Juárez International Airport.

The officers detained a man and seized a firearm.

Through a tweet, they added that the first reports indicate that it was a "direct attack."

The possible perpetrator was injured and is in a hospital in custody.
