Thrown away cigarette causes fire brigade operations in Partenkirchen

GAP - On October 14, around 3:40 p.m., a noticeable smoke development from the cellar shaft was reported in a block of flats on Hindenburgstrasse in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The communicator had already tried to put out the fire. The Partenkirchen fire brigade found on site that dry leaves that had collected in the cellar shaft were igniting. The cause of the fire was probably a discarded cigarette butt that ignited the leaves. Nobody was injured by the fire. There was material damage through burn holes in the awning amounting to approx. 200 euros. The Partenkirchen fire brigade, with 27 emergency services and 5 vehicles, was involved in the operation. kb
