On La Palma, the authorities have ordered further evacuations because of the outbreak of the "Cumbre Vieja".
In addition, the Canary Island continues to be shaken by earthquakes.
La Palma - Almost a month has passed since the eruption of a volcano on the Canary Island of La Palma and people still have to get to safety from the consequences of the volcanic eruption.
The authorities ordered the evacuation of another 300 residents on Thursday (October 14).
The number of evacuated people rose to more than 7,000, as the state TV broadcaster
RTVE
reported on Thursday.

In addition, around 100 more light to medium earthquakes were registered.
One had a strength of 4.5 and was thus the most violent since the eruption of the volcano on September 19.
Since the northern flank of the volcanic cone collapsed last Saturday, the flow of lava through inhabited areas towards the sea has increased.
The emerging lava was also around 1200 degrees hotter than before and therefore thinner and a little faster.

On Thursday afternoon, the volcano's funnel overflowed and large amounts of lava flowed over its rim.
According to experts, however, this is a normal process from time to time, as
RTVE
reported.
The lava is expected to flow towards the sea on its previous route without causing any new damage.
La Palma: volcanic eruption leaves a trail of destruction
According to the evaluation of the data from the European Earth observation system Copernicus, 1548 buildings have been destroyed by the lava and an area of 680 hectares has been covered by lava and ash. That corresponds to about 950 soccer fields. Nobody has been harmed so far.
According to the operator Aena, the airport on the Canary Island of La Palma is still operational.
However, this is only served by a few airlines.
The air traffic to the other large tourist islands of the Canary Islands, such as Tenerife or Fuerteventura, however, runs normally.
In the meantime, the airport had to cease flight operations due to the volcanic ash.
The volcano that erupted on September 19th belongs to the Cumbre Vieja.
It consists of a chain of volcanoes on the island of La Palma in Spain.
The now active volcano last spewed lava and ash in 1971.
