The book written by Frank Herbert won several awards and is listed as one of the greatest sagas in science fiction.


We are a few weeks away from the premiere of the movie 'Dune' that will star Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.

This film generated a lot of expectation since the cast met and marks the beginning of a new film saga taken from the books.

What is 'Dune' about?

The story takes place 10,000 years in the future, 'Dune' tells the story of the desert planet Arrakis, source of a species called Melange that helps travelers and guarantees longevity and psychic powers.

This planet is entrusted to an emperor who will be betrayed and whose son Paul (Chalamet) will be banished to die as a result of the adverse conditions of the planet.

It is there where the battle begins and the path of the hero for Paul, who must face the emperor on the one hand and, on the other, the old enemies of his people.

Frank Herbert's most recognized work

'Dune' is an admirable mix of adventure, mysticism and politics.

The first book won the first Nebula Prize in 1965, the Hugo Prize (1966) and cemented one of the greatest sagas in science fiction.

It is important that you know that this text has appendices to understand the context in which humans came to other planets, their religion and their way of life in each place and also has a dictionary of terms to accompany the reading.

In its pocket format, the text is 716 pages long, and it doesn't matter if you can't read it fully for the film's premiere, as the first 'Dune' book was designed as a two-film project.
