The Iraqi Electoral Commission announced the results of the preliminary elections for the House of Representatives in the country after the completion of the scrutiny process.
Alsumaria News quoted the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Jalil Adnan, as saying during a press conference in the capital, Baghdad today, "We were keen to commit to announcing the preliminary results within 24 hours of polling, as the audit of 3,681 polling stations was completed and added to the preliminary results," noting that the announced results are preliminary and can be challenge it.
Adnan added that the commission was not affected by any political conflict and is committed to standing at the same distance from all political forces.
The advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Abdul-Hussein Al-Hindawi, announced earlier today that the counting and manual counting of the votes in all the quarantined polling stations had been completed.
It is noteworthy that the general voting for the Iraqi parliament elections took place last Sunday, when the Independent High Electoral Commission announced that the initial participation rate reached 41 percent.
