The Association of the Thuringian Housing and Real Estate Industry has asked the municipalities to spend more money on housing Hartz IV recipients.
The cities and districts would often set the applicable rates for the cost of accommodation for unemployment benefit II recipients too low, said the association director Frank Emrich of the German press agency.
Erfurt - This means that these apartments cannot be managed sustainably by the companies.
"Investments in climate neutrality and accessibility are in fact completely impossible," said Emrich.
According to municipalities, rental costs have increased in recent years.
However, since the number of Hartz IV recipients has generally decreased, the total expenditure of the municipalities has remained more or less stable or has even decreased.
