Musician Yuval Mesner passed away this weekend at the age of 56, as a result of an illness.
Mesner played the cello and also worked as a producer in the Israeli music industry.
Since the mid-1980s, Mesner has been considered a well-known figure in the local cultural world.
He played with bands like Mishina and Where's the Boy, and also formed ensembles with Eran Tzur and Alona Daniel (Tattoo), and with Dana Berger and Dan Toren (Blagan Band, Masner Quartet).
In the early 1990s he was convicted of raping a minor and sentenced to six months of actual imprisonment, as well as probation, for a period of three years.
The sentence was publicly criticized at the time due to the light punishment he received.
When he returned to activity, he composed music for plays, movies, TV series and dance performances.
In the union of his mythical band Tato in 2018, a network protest arose which protested his return to the stages.
