The CDU Saar believes that the party base must be involved in important decisions in the debate about the reorientation of the Union.
"We have many members who rightly demand this and who are also ready to get involved," said the Secretary General of the CDU Saar, Markus Uhl, of the German Press Agency in Saarbrücken.
However, the party has always done well with the delegate principle.
Saarbrücken - "That is why it is important to look carefully at which decisions the members can be questioned about and where we fall back on the delegate principle."
It is precisely on such mechanisms that the district chairperson's conference will discuss on October 30th - and then make proposals.
Uhl said that there are district chairpersons in the CDU Saar who interviewed their members on site in advance.
"This is exemplary and shows that our district chairmen are close to the grassroots and of course include the members in their decisions," he said.

The vote of the members will be decisive for him at the conference on October 30th on the procedure for finding the new party leadership, said district chairman Roland Theis.
