For several days, Bernburg in Saxony-Anhalt will be a center of East German children's and youth theater.
The “Wildwechsel” festival will stop there from Saturday to Thursday.
The organizer is the Working Group East of Germany's Children's and Youth Theaters, an association of 39 theaters in Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Thuringia.
Bernburg - The core of the festival are eight productions selected by a jury of experts.
According to the organizers, 60 proposals had been submitted.
Most of the proposed pieces had a strong socio-political interest and had taken up controversial topics of the present without having any answers ready.
The managing director of the Bernburg Theater announced a demanding and varied program.
It is under the motto "The Garden of Democracy".
