A year has passed since the controversial arrest of the former Secretary of Defense of Mexico, General Salvador Cienfuegos, for alleged drug trafficking, and the wounds left by this case in relations between Mexico and the United States have not yet healed, according to analysts consulted by CNN.
Cienfuegos pleaded not guilty and the Mexican prosecutor's office exonerated him of any charge despite the accusations against him.
