The corona incidence in Saxony has exceeded the 100 mark.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 105.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week on Saturday morning.
On Friday, the seven-day incidence was 98.9.
This puts Saxony on a par with Bavaria, only in Thuringia the incidence is higher (129.1).
Nationwide, the RKI gave the value as 70.8.
Dresden - Seven other people died of or in connection with a Covid 19 disease in Saxony, around 860 new infections were registered within one day.
Central Saxony continued to have the highest infection rate (183.4), the lowest in the Vogtland district (41.5).
Health Minister Petra Köpping (SPD) had already warned of rising corona numbers and a "pandemic of the unvaccinated" at the beginning of the week.
In Saxony, around 56 percent of people are fully vaccinated - more than in any other federal state.
