It all started around a tea dance.
About twenty members of a belote club of the Amitié de Secondigny association, in Deux-Sèvres, have tested positive for the coronavirus since the beginning of October.
The first infected had participated in a tea dance in a neighboring town. The health passes had indeed been controlled, but the virus was circulating among the 400 people gathered that day. The seniors present remember a crowded room. "
There were a lot of people, it was very hot, a humid heat conducive to this kind of thing
," said a participant at the microphone of France Bleu. Subsequently, three members went to the Belote club, which is held every Wednesday afternoon. The next day, the president of the club, Ms. Goudeau, received a call from the Regional Health Agency informing her that two volunteers had tested positive. About twenty members developed symptoms in the days that followed.
All the patients were vaccinated and none showed serious symptoms, but the belote competitions are canceled until further notice.
"We
will have to put the mask back on and reuse the gel more often
," said the club president.
